Alejandro Calderón

Alejandro Calderón, a native from Colombia, is the founder of Mutual Empathy, a venture impact studio focused on managing collaborative systems towards strategic synergies in order to implement high impact projects in the energy transition, nature based solutions, creative and circular economies with innovative finance strategies and leverage disruptive technologies to reach scale and mobilize investment into the SDGs.

He brings more than 15 years’ experience in the financial sector with J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley having worked in their Paris, Geneva, London and New York offices. Alejandro co-founded ValueSkies, a company that transforms waste and energy crops into sustainable aviation fuels / green chemistry / green hydrogen. He co-founded Salva, an investment vehicle focused on regenerative tourism. He is also co-founder of Looking for the Masters, a vehicle that seeks to preserve ancestral knowledge and technologies, empowering indigenous communities. In 2020, he co-founded Neutraloop, a digital platform to engage stakeholders in the lifestyle industry to decarbonize it and mobilize resources towards impact projects aligned to it. In 2019 Alejandro co-founded P17, a multi-stakeholder coalition in Colombia, to mobilize investment into SDGs using a blended finance strategy. In order to mobilize investment into Mutual Empathy’s transformational verticals and portfolio companies and initiatives, he founded RWC, a Delaware based asset management company.

Sacha Pictet

Sacha Pictet, a Swiss citizen, is a Founding Partner of RWC LLC, a Delaware based asset management company focusing on sustainable and impact investing in private equity. Sacha joined RWC Partner Alejandro Calderon in September of 2020 as a Director at Mutual Empathy LLC, a venture building studio that incubates impact opportunities at the early/pre-seed stage. RWC and Mutual Empathy are focusing its efforts around multiple sectors in impact that include energy transition, regenerative economy, blue economy, nature-based solutions for wildlife conservation and ancient indigenous knowledge and more. He is currently supporting portfolio companies ValueSkies as acting Financial Director and Salva as acting CFO. Sacha brings a wealth of experience in private equity following a dozen years in London managing different investments and products at FPP Asset Management LLP, a company founded in 1998 with a focus in emerging markets.

During his time at FPP, Sacha co-managed the Ukraine Opportunity Trust PLC, a London Stock-Exchange Listed Investment Trust investing in Eastern-Europe. Following this Sacha was made Partner and returned to the UK to oversee the restructuring of the organization as well as co-leading the firm’s strategy and execution in private equity. Since joining Alejandro, Sacha is using his decade + experience in private equity to benefit impact for underlying communities as well as capital providers.
